How can I fix a PC that says “Operating system not found” in a black screen?
When I turn on my PC the screen is completely black and says “Operating system not found” and does not respond to anything that I enter. What is the cause of this problem and is it fixable? And if so, how can I fix it?
Check the boot order in the BIOS, the device with the OS (generally the hard drive) may have been removed from the order so the PC isn't looking there.
The hard drive may also have crashed or become corrupted. You may need to replace the drive or reformat and reinstall an OS onto it. Try putting the HDD in another computer and seeing if it works at all.
