Important Tips for Scuba Diving at Night

Scuba diving at night is better preferred by many experienced scuba divers. One of the major reasons for this is that there are many things under the water which are only seen in the dark during the night. It becomes almost like a beautiful moonlit underwater city all by itself. It is an amazing experience but it is essential to use the safety features as scuba diving at night can be very hazardous.

First and important thing to remember is that scuba diving at night is only for the ones who are very experienced in diving and is dangerous for new divers. As it is diving may be risky during the day but it increases manifold at night. One of the reasons is that the visibility is very low at night despite the added beauty of the night time.

It's a good idea to have plenty of rest and proper meal before you are venture for a night dive. There should be enough carbohydrate in the body to keep the body temperature stable as the water will be colder than what it is generally. Cold water causes stress to the body, which will make the body want to relax and rest and that can get very hazardous when you are under the water.

Be sure you know the area where you are planning to dive. It is good if you dive in these regions during the day to get used to it and then when you are comfortable you can explore it at night. This will also help you with better movement at night and you will be more aware of the surrounds. It is never recommended for anyone to go scuba diving alone be it day or night. This is one of the necessary requirements for scuba diving safety and as far as possible all should follow it.

Right equipment and dive light is imperative here. The light should have a good beam width and depth rating. Burning time is also of importance, and keeping rechargeable battery or multiple set of batteries is vital.

Keeping some glow sticks is of great importance and can be kept on your air tank. If you wrap it around your body it will be easy for the members of the diving party to locate you and know where you are in the darkness of the night. Last but not the least tip is to know all the user regulations of the locale that you have decided to dive in. As every place has its own rule for divers. If you are fully aware of the rules and all the party members follow it there will be no problems and no one will get into any difficulty.

If regulations are not followed strictly scuba diving can be very dangerous but don't forget scuba diving at night is very exhilarating and great fun too.
